The Faculty Student Council for Social and Behavioral Sciences consists of twelve students who work for a year for student interests at the UvA. We do this by dealing daily with all important and apparently less important issues that concern the student. You can think of large topics such as the UvA’s housing plans and internationalization policy, but also smaller issues such as the opening times of the UB and the price of our cups of coffee. We are all members of a student participation party such as UvASociaal or De Vrije Student, and we are directly elected by the students (with the exception of the council assistants). We also have a delegate on the Central Student Council to keep us informed of interfaculty and UvA-wide issues and we are supported by an official secretary.
