Commissies

O&O

De O&O commissie houdt zich bezig met onderwijs en onderzoek. Elk jaar houden zij zich vooral bezig met de OER (onderwijs en examenreglement). We proberen via deze commissie om het reglement zo gunstig mogelijk te maken voor studenten, want dat is natuurlijk waarom wij bestaan als studentenraad.

Verder is het dit jaar ook bijzonder, omdat dit het jaar het nieuwe bachelorprogramma is geïntroduceerd. In het nieuwe bachelorprogramma veranderen veel dingen, zo verdwijnt de Amsterdam Law Firm en krijgt iedereen meer praktisch onderwijs doordat er meer praktische vaardigheden worden getoetst. De FSR zal de veranderingen blijven monitoren.

O&F

De O&F commissie houdt zich vooral bezig met de Financiën van de faculteit en kijkt waar kritisch naar gekeken moet worden en wat de faculteit precies met zijn geld doet. Verder zijn enkele portefeuilles waar de commissie mee bezig is: toegankelijkheid voor studenten, denk aan studenten die niet altijd het onderwijs fysiek kunnen volgen of door een gebrek niet makkelijk dat kunnen doen, book poverty, oftewel boek armoede, niet alle studenten kunnen studieboeken kopen en de O&F commissie denkt aan mogelijkheden om dit probleem op te lossen, zodat meer studenten goed het onderwijs kunnen volgen ondanks dat zij de financiële middelen hier misschien niet voor hebben.

PR

De PR commissie houdt zich vooral bezig met het beheren van de sociale media, zoals Instagram, linkedin, de website en onze WhatsApp. Via deze media kunnen studenten ons een bericht sturen als ze problemen hebben of iets om over te klagen. We zijn daarnaast ook gewoon een luisterend oor dus altijd beschikbaar voor studenten.

Verder organiseren we ook evenementen zoals de Constitutieborrels, dinner met de decaan, koffiemomenten voor studenten waarbij ze ons vragen kunnen stellen over wat we doen en informatiesessies waarin wij uitleggen wat we doen en hoe mensen onderdeel kunnen worden van de studentenraad.

Committees

O&O

The Education and Research (O&O) committee focuses on education and research. Each year, they are mainly engaged in the Education and Examination Regulations (OER). Through this committee, we aim to make the regulations as favourable as possible for students because that is, of course, why we exist as a student council.

Furthermore, this year is special because this year the new bachelor’s program for law has been implemented. Many things have changed in the new bachelor’s program; for example, the Amsterdam Law Firm has disappeared, and everyone will receive more practical education as more practical skills will be assessed. The FSR will monitor the bachelor renewal.

O&F

The O&F committee is primarily concerned with the finances of the faculty and examines where critical scrutiny is needed and how the faculty precisely allocates its funds. Additionally, some portfolios the committee is working on include accessibility for students, considering students who may not always be able to attend physical classes or find it challenging to do so due to a lack of resources, book poverty—meaning not all students can afford study materials. The O&F committee is exploring solutions to address this issue, allowing more students to access education effectively despite potential financial constraints.

PR

The PR committee is primarily responsible for managing social media platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, the website, and our WhatsApp. Through these channels, students can send us messages if they have issues or complaints. We serve as a listening ear and are always available to students.

Furthermore, we organize events such as Constitution Drinks, dinners with the dean, coffee moments for students where they can ask us questions about what we do, and information sessions where we explain our activities and how people can become part of the student council. This year we are planning a Gala, more information will follow.
